Description

North Macedonia is a centrally-located, multi-ethnic democracy and NATO ally at the crossroads of major transportation corridors in Europe. Mis- and disinformation are frequently used to create different types of provocations which in turn increases North Macedonia’s susceptibility to malign foreign and domestic influences. TechCamp Ohrid will bring together 40 educators from all over the country to train them in media literacy and cybersecurity skills to counter mis- and disinformation in schools, improve social cohesion among different ethnicities and support youth development.

This TechCamp aims to:

-Provide teachers with practical knowledge and experience in developing advanced educational resources using different digital media (e.g., use cases, games)

-Establish a community of teachers and experts in the fields of media literacy and cybersecurity

-Inspire teachers to develop additional open educational resources using different types of media even after the TechCamp ends

-Spread the methodology and framework for developing advanced educational resources using different digital media, even among teachers who did not participate in the original TechCamp

-Reduce the spread of mis- and disinformation through schools in North Macedonia
