Description

U.S. Mission to Greece is organizing TechCamp Thessaloniki: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs at the 85th Thessaloniki International Fair. Held in partnership with Found.ation and under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Governance, this TechCamp will take place from September 12-14, 2021, at the Digital Greece Pavilion of the Fair. The goal of the program is to support female-led startups and create equal opportunities for women in the entrepreneurship ecosystem. TechCamp Thessaloniki will provide tailored training for a diverse group of female entrepreneurs from Greece and the region. The three-day program will feature a highly collaborative and hands-on acceleration process including brainstorming sessions, small group discussions, and training workshops that provide innovative solutions to real challenges identified by the participants. TechCamp Thessaloniki: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs will teach business innovators how to use new digital tools and strategies to create a sustainable business. Forty women owners of nascent businesses from Greece and the Balkans (Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, and the Republic of North Macedonia) have been chosen to attend this three-day lab in Thessaloniki. With the help of experienced international and local mentors, the participants will develop solutions to overcome common obstacles faced by young startups. Through their participation in this program, women entrepreneurs will obtain the skills they need to transform their ideas into action and evolve their startups into sustainable businesses that contribute to the financial growth and economic stability of their communities. The program was initially scheduled to take place in September 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID19 pandemic. The forty women participants had the opportunity to participate in a series of virtual workshops during the past year, leading up to this in-person event.
