TechCamp Niamey

Voices for Peace

Participants from

Burkina Faso; Cameroon; Chad; Mali; Mauritania; Niger; Nigeria; Senegal

Description

TechCamp Niger: Voices for Peace connected 70 youth and religious leaders from across West Africa. Participants and technology trainers came together to discuss the challenges of countering violent extremism (CVE), the threat of radicalization in their communities and to learn ways that technology can be used to create and promote counter-narratives of peace and tolerance. In addition to gaining new technology skills, participants are now part of a regional network of leaders who can seek advice and share best practices as they work to promote peace.
