TechCamp Morocco

Preserving Cultural Heritage

Participants from

Morocco

Description

TechCamp Morocco meets the challenge of empowering youth to engage meaningfully with cultural heritage, and bridge the generation gap between experts in heritage preservation and the youth who must continue these efforts. This interactive, multi-day capacity-building workshop will assemble talented Moroccan civil society leaders and members of various youth networks and connect them with experts in cultural heritage preservation to build inter-generational teams that will work together before, during, and after the TechCamp to address cultural heritage challenges in their communities. The initiative will also provide the participants with tools to identify threatened cultural heritage in their communities and launch grass-roots efforts to map it, share it digitally, contribute to its preservation, and potentially launch programs that result in sustainable job creation around cultural heritage preservation. The in-person TechCamp has been preceded by two virtual webinars which that introduced participants to one another as well as key concepts in cultural preservation.
