Description
Hosted by U.S. Embassy Seoul, TechCamp Korea is a 3 day-long workshop for 50 of university students, researchers, and early-career young professionals working in AI to discuss pressing issues of AI Ethics and AI-based discrimination. The TechCamp will include a combination of formal expert-led discussions and workshops as well as informal team building exercises, with the ultimate goal of fostering a sense of community amongst young AI experts. This program builds on U.S. Embassy Seoul’s existing Youth AI Roundtable program, an initiative to build a new community of “AI Youth Advisors” who regularly meet to discuss the opportunities and risks associated with AI and advise the Embassy about the state of play of AI development in the Republic of Korea. Participants will be invited to speak at Embassy-sponsored events and social media campaigns to share their insights with the general public. TechCamp Korea will strengthen ties between the United States and future AI leaders, generating new ideas on AI governance and regulation that can be broadly shared amongst policymakers and businesses.
