On Friday, September 30th, TechCamp trainers and participants will convene in Ethiopia’s capital city, Addis Ababa for TechCamp Addis Ababa: Empowering Ethiopians through Media Literacy. The event will continue through the weekend, concluding on Sunday, October 2nd.
The three-day workshop in the nation’s largest city aims to give participants the opportunity to learn vital media literacy skills and further expand their capabilities of countering disinformation. The team of trainers will use their individual expertise alongside hands-on, participant-led exercises to guide their learning in the best way possible.
Ethiopia’s ongoing civil conflict has increased ethic tensions and created an atmosphere of unrest within the region. This internal conflict makes the ability to combat disinformation and report accurate news crucial skills for the media professionals and influencers in Ethiopia.
