Sanja Jerlagić was born in Sarajevo in 1988, where she stayed during the war and survived the Great siege of Sarajevo. She has a bachelors degree in Journalism, and a masters degree in Communicology from the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Political Science. She aquired her journalism skills in local media: a local TV station (Public television of Sarajevo Canton – TVSA), daily newspapers (“Oslobođenje,” “Dnevni avaz”) and internet news portal Radiosarajevo.ba where she also worked as an editor. In this role she would create and publish relevant material on social media, follow daily events and edit local and breaking news on a daily basis.
On a subportal of Radiosarajevo.ba, she wrote articles for Manjine.ba (a project portal funded with the help of USAID), which was created for reporting about minorities, deprivileged groups, discrimination, LGBT+ and poverty. Being of multicultural and multireligious descent, she was raised, lived, educated and worked with different ethnic backgrounds and religious or political convictions.
